Spring can pipe supports are often used below a pipe when the line needs support from the base side but still has vertical movement. The can body protects the spring and gives the support a clear standing form. This makes it useful on hot pipelines, insulated pipe shoes, and process lines where the pipe cannot be held by a plain steel saddle.
Load data is the first thing to confirm. The supplier needs operating load, movement travel, pipe size, insulation thickness, and base plate condition. Without this information, the support may fit the pipe but still work poorly after the line heats up or cools down. A clear load sheet also makes it easier to mark each support by line number during packing. This small review also helps the site team avoid rework, because the hanger position, rod length, and pipe movement can be checked before the support is finally locked in place.
